Billy Clarke
Stanley William Clarke, age 91. Died January 23, 2018 at Troy Beaumont Hospital. Stanley was born August 18, 1926 in Detroit to the late Stanley Bruce and the late Dorothy Clarke (nee Dailey).Husband of Rose for 58 years. Loving father of Kent Clarke, Bill (Stacey) Clarke, Nancy (Frank) Basilisco, Mark Clarke and John (Tina) Clarke. Beloved grandfather of Michael Basilisco, Kristina Clarke, Angela Basilisco, Jeffrey Clarke, Marcus Clarke, Brett Clarke, Corey Clarke, Marissa Clarke, Ethan Clarke, Aiden Clarke and Joseph Clarke. Visitation Thursday 3-9 pm, with a 6:30 pm Rosary at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30;009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.). In state Friday 10:00 am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Faustina Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross.
Don Lundin
Donald G. Lundin, 89, of Hancock, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 14, 2018 at Portage Pointe of U.P. Health System- Portage in Hancock. He was born in Calumet on October 25, 1928, a son of the late Carl “Ed” and Anna (Rompainen) Lundin. He attended local schools and graduated from Calumet High School in 1946. Before leaving the area in September of 1949, he worked at Calumet & Hecla Mining Company as a draftsman. He began his employment with General Motors at Chevrolet Motor Division in Warren, Michigan in their 2 year draftsman training program. After 1 year, he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War and a radar operator and draftsman plotter in artillery observation. After 2 years he resumed his training with Chevrolet. He held the positions of detail draftsman, senior detailer, junior layout, senior layout, and senior design supervisor. He preferred designing to supervision and was assigned to design groups as senior designer and assistant design supervisor. For several years he attended evening classes at the University of Michigan, the Detroit College of Science, and the Mazzatta School of Chassis Design. In 1982 Cadillac needed help in designing a new front wheel drive vehicle for 1984 and he was put on loan to design the front suspension and steering geometry. He was granted a U.S. Patent on September 30, 1986 for his design. He was kept on loan from Chevrolet to do design work on a mid-size car for Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac Motor Divisions until his retirement on July 1, 1986. He was united in marriage to Janice Pawsey of Hereford, England on September 7, 1960. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2008. He was re-married to the former Bette (Hodges) Reed on July 15, 2012 in a ceremony at the First United Methodist Church of Hancock. Besides his parents and first wife, he was also preceded in death by an older brother, Carl. He is survived by his wife, Bette of Hancock; two sisters: Margaret Mattila of Mohawk and Elsie Powers of Milford, MI; and by several nieces and nephews in the United States and England. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Hancock with Pastor Scott Lindenberg to officiate. Interment will be in the Lake View Cemetery of Calumet in the spring. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 A.M. until the time of services. The O’Neill-Dennis Funeral Home of Hancock is in charge of the arrangements.

Chuck MCClune passed away on Monday May 14, 2018 at the age of 91
Don Gill
Gill, Donald Henry, age 96 of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, died March 31, 2018. He was born on June 15, 1921 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Sarah (Geringer) Gill. Donald was drafted into the army in 1943 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1946. He was employed at Chevrolet Motor Car Division and retired after 33 years. Donald married Eileen Erna Kruse in 1947. They had four children; David (Robin), Diane (Dale) Goodwin, Karen (Gary) Justin, and Linda (Abdo) Alashmaly. After a long illness, Eileen died in 1979. Don re-married Anna Rose Garber in 1980. Ann had four sons; Robert, John (Joy), Dan (Sandy) and Paul. Anna died in 2013. Don is also pre-deceased by Robert Garber, Dan and Sandy Garber. Between both marriages, Dad enjoyed 25 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 6th from 3-8 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, MI 48081. He will be laying in state at Bethel Lutheran Church, 26400 Little Mack, St. Clair Shores 48081, on Saturday, April 7 at 10 a.m., service at 10:30 a.m. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 11852 Van Dyke, Detroit 48234. Memorials to Bethel Lutheran Church and/or American Heart Association.

Mal Hanson
Malcolm Palmer Hanson, of Warren, MI passed away peacefully November 7, 2018, at the age of 95. Preceded in death by first wife Shirley and second wife Marie. Survived by children Kerry, Sue (Roger) Koch, Mark, Scott (Mary), and Joel (Maureen). Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. Born on December 10th, 1922, in a farmhouse in Villa Grove, Illinois, he was an only child, and as a young boy moved with his parents to the Detroit area. Throughout his long life he was curious, smart, hardworking, honest, generous and compassionate, a man of the highest integrity. He served his country proudly in World War II, and devoted himself to his job with General Motors at the Tech Center in Warren, never missing a day of work. His interest in cars stayed with him throughout his life, and he was an enthusiastic annual visitor to the North American International Auto Show. His sense of fun and adventure showed in his love of bowling, softball, tennis, and, after his retirement from GM, traveling the world. In addition to enjoying hobbies and travel, his retirement also gave him the opportunity to become a volunteer at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, where he dedicated hours each week and became a much beloved figure to patients and staff alike, ultimately receiving an Outstanding Volunteer Recognition award from the City of Warren. He loved his wife Shirley with his whole heart through their 54 years together, and tenderly nursed her through her final illness, devoted to the last moment. A few years later, he found love again, and enjoyed 12 years with second wife Marie, until she, too, passed away. His wisdom and generosity were evident in his final act in life, which was to donate his body to science. A celebration of his life will take place at The Woods Church at 14300 13 Mile Rd. in Warren, on December 10th at 11:00 am, with a reception immediately following.
Wes Tomlinson
WESLEY DURAND TOMLINSON, Jr. , age 85, of Rochester Hills, died November 20, 2018. Wesley was born on March 30, 1933 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, son of the late Wesley, Sr. and Birdie Tomlinson. He graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1951 and the graduated from Purdue University in 1955 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed with G.M. Chevrolet Division for 37 years, retiring in 1992. Wesley was an Elder at University Presbyterian Church where he was a member for 59 years. He was actively involved for over 40 years with the Rochester Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, formerly known as the Society for Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Singing. He also was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon as well as the Indian Guides. Wesley loved wilderness canoeing, snow and water skiing. He had a great love of music, and enjoyed playing the piano and trombone. He also was a car enthusiast and enjoyed wood working. Wesley is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann B., whom he married on April 13, 1957 after they met while attending Purdue University. He is also survived by children Steven (Lou Ann) Tomlinson and Beth (Robert) LaBelle; grandchildren Sarah (Kevin) Kolcheck, Michael (Hannah) Tomlinson, Kathryn (Jacques) Dupuis, Cory LaBelle, and Joel LaBelle; great grandchildren Oliver, Theodore and Emmanuel; sister Mary Heleniak; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at 12p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at University Presbyterian Church 1385 S Adams Rd, Rochester Hills, MI. Visitation will be 11a.m. until time of service. Rev. Bob Sheldon officiating. Luncheon to follow, then procession to Mt. Avon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Barbershop Harmony Society or University Presbyterian Church.
