Noreeta Dolby

Noreeta J. Dolby, age 77, of New Baltimore, MI passed away peacefully In Bloomfield Hills, MI. January 18, 2015. She was born June 12, 1937 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Pearl and June Henderson. Survivors are her husband, David Dolby; children, Christina (Stan) Dolby-Criger, Sherrie Lee (Keith) Dolby-Arnoldy; grandchildren, Mik (Ariel) Dolby-Criger, Cody Dolby-Criger, Jennephyr Dolby-Criger, Connor Dolby-Arnoldy, Logan Dolby-Arnoldy and Pheonix Dolby-Arnoldy; great-grandchildren, Sophia Rose Dolby-Criger and Layla Elizabeth Dolby-Criger; siblings, Patricia (David) Ripsom, Gwendolyn (Charles) Tyler, Betty Santee and Edward (Martha) Henderson; she also leaves a niece and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Stephen David Dolby and her brother-in-law, Clyde Santee. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 Twelve Mile Rd. (2 blocks West of Woodward) Berkley 48072. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the funeral home with Deacon Dan Darga of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church presiding. Burial committal services will follow at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley. 

William Bolton

Bolton, William R. Age 92. January 22, 2015. Beloved husband of Eileen for 65 years. Loving father of William (Laura) Bolton, Katherine Bolton, Robert (Barbara) Bolton, Steven (Catherine) Bolton and Mary (Michael) Ingram. Dear brother of Marjorie Martin and the late George Bolton, Dorothy King and Robert Bolton. Proud grandfather of Jeffrey Bolton, Angeline and Chalem Bolton, Joshua, Alec and Brenna Ingram. Visitation Sunday 2-8 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. (4 blks. E of Woodward), Royal Oak. Ken Wern

WERN H. KENNETH Age 92. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania. Beloved husband of the late Lillie Wern. Loving father of Thomas, Erik and Christina (Ed); grandfather to Benjamin (Eileen), Elisa, Maria and Jennifer; great-grandfather to Liligrace and Austin. Also survived by brothers Roy, Carl, George, and Lars. Funeral Service Saturday, January 31, 2015, 11:00 a.m., at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 23425 Lahser, Southfield, MI 48033. Visitation one hour prior to service.

Joe Kaczmarek

Joseph Kaczmarek, of White Lake, died at home in the loving care of his family on Wednesday evening, March 18, 2015. He was 77 years old. Born on March 15, 1938, in Detroit, he was the son of Leopold and Helen (Bem) Kaczmarek. He graduated from Holy Redeemer High School in 1956 and took a BS in Mechanical Engineering at General Motors Institute. Because of his love for literature, he also achieved a Bachelor of Arts from Wayne St. University and later used this degree to teach Epic Poetry to engineering students at Lawrence Tech in the evening while also working at General Motors. On March 26, 1966 he married Almerinda (Merinda) Ausilio, the love of his life. They settled in Lathrup Village and had their son and daughter. He worked as a mechanical engineer all of his professional life and he had a great aptitude for the workings of things. Known as “Tool belt Joe” to many of his friends, he could fix, improve, restore and repurpose things, with real pleasure. In 1977 the family moved from Lathrup Village to a home on the lake in White Lake Township. For many years the Kaczmarek’s traveled to warm places in March; Hawaii, St. Croix, Cancun and Aruba; to shorten the winter. In their retirement years they wintered in Naples, Florida where Joe was the only man in the book discussion group. He was especially interested in history. He was an avid reader, a lover of language, a good listener and a good example ” a Renaissance Man ” creative, hardworking, curious and discerning, patient, detailed, consistent and loyal. Summers were spent at Torch Lake where he refurbished four properties and where family gathered as he watched the generations rise up around him. In addition to Almerinda, his beloved wife, Joseph is survived by his children Theodore Joseph Kaczmarek and Emily Anne (Mark) Berberich; granddaughter, Lily Claire; siblings, Cas (Arlene) Kaczmarek, Bernadette (Steve) Lovett, Mary Anne Williams, and Paul (Cindy) Kaczmarek; aunt Rose Brent; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. Funeral Service from Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty St., Milford on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 11 AM. Friends may visit on Sunday from 3 – 8 PM.

Dave Webster

David Edwin Webster, age 89, of Orion, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at his residence. He was born on March 7, 1926 in England, son of the late Ernest and Lucy (Westaway) Webster. David retired in 1985 from General Motors as an Engineer. He enjoyed travel and home improvement jobs at his house. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eileen Webster. His children Jane (Tom) Foster, Rick (Cathy) Webster and Sally (Andris Andersons) Webster. Also survived by grandchildren Erin Foster and Andrew (Toni) Foster, 4 great grandchildren and 2 nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 22, from 2 to 8 pm at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester.

Bob Nelson

Robert E. ‘Bob’ Nelson, 80, of Bowling Green, passed peacefully and with dignity, Monday, May 1, 2015 at The Hospice House. The Detroit, Michigan native was the son of the late Eugene and Thelma Nelson. Bob was a member of the Smiths Grove Presbyterian Church and served in the United States Navy Reserve on Submarine Duty. He retired from General Motors Corvette Designer and Engineer in 2000 and was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Edith Scott Nelson, Bowling Green, his sons; Darrell R. Nelson wife Jill, Texas, David A. Nelson, wife Sara, Michigan and a daughter; Debbie Hazel of Bowling Green. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Sydney Nelson, and Thorne Nelson of Texas, Matthew Hazel, and Emily McPeak Roberts both of Bowling Green and a great granddaughter; Charlotte Roberts also of Bowling Green. Bob is preceded in death by his step son; Jimmy McPeak. Visitation is 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015 at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Lovers Lane Chapel with entombment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. 

Chuck Fessler

Charles “Chuck” Fessler, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on May 4, 2015. He was born March 3, 1921 in Port Huron, Michigan, the son of Charles T. Fessler and Elsie E. Semer. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John (Jack) and Paul Fessler and sister, Mary Carolyn, and his son, Chuckie. Survived by his wife of seventy two years, Mary D. Williams, sons Christopher and Joseph (Tammy), daughters Mary Catherine (Michael) Moriarty, Suzanne (James) Bock and Christine Rutkowski. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Charles attended Precious Blood Grade School and St. Francis de Sales High School (1938) in Detroit. He enlisted in U.S. Air Force on April 16, 1942 and served sixteen months in the Asiatic Pacific Theater as a Master Sergeant Liaison Pilot with the 1st Air Commando Group. He was awarded the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster. He married Mary Dolores Williams on April 5, 1943 in Hobbs, New Mexico. After his discharge from the Air Force, he attended the evening division of the University of Detroit, where he was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu and graduated with a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in 1952. He worked for many years at Fisher Body and Chevrolet as an automotive draftsman, retiring in 1980 from Chevrolet as a design engineer of truck bodies. He was a long time usher at Precious Blood Church in Detroit, St. Patrick Church in Union Lake, and a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Howell. He was a long time member at the Farmington YMCA and the Hartland Senior Center. Charles was a man of abiding faith and a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will forever be missed by those who loved him dearly. Services were held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, Brighton, Michigan.

Bob Gervais

Robert D. Gervais died peacefully in Altamonte Springs, Florida on Monday, June 29 at the age of 87. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Shirley; his children Nancy (Gary) Boledovich, Susan, Diane (Dave) Roberts, Kevin (Luzhu), Lori (Tom) DeWolf, Barbara (Tracy) Ennes, Robert (Stefanie), and Julie (Bob) Roop; and his brother Louis (Eleanor). In addition, Bob is survived by 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Gervais is preceded in death by his grandson Tommy DeWolf, brother Edmund, and parents George & Esther Gervais. Bob was born on February 6, 1928 in Detroit, MI. He attended Henry Ford Trade School and had a long career with General Motors/Chevrolet as a Materials Design Engineer. Bob and Shirley were long time Royal Oak residents before relocating to Florida for the winters and Northern Michigan during the spring and summer. He was a member of the Chevrolet Engineering Retirees Club and looked forward to socializing with past co-workers at the luncheons and club meetings. A funeral is scheduled for Friday, July 17 at National Shrine of The Little Flower with gathering/visiting at 9:30 a.m., funeral mass at 10:00 a.m.

Jack Kelledes

Jack A Kelledes May 31, 1932 – July 03, 2015 Jack A. Kelledes, 83, of Royal Oak, MI died July 3, 2015. Jack was a Veteran of the US Army 82nd Airborne Division and retired from General Motors in 1994. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and gaming. He was also a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Community. Jack is survived by his wife Mary whom he married October 2, 1955. Also survived by 5 daughters, 1 son, 8 grandchildren and siblings; Andy, James, and Stella. Preceded in death by his siblings; William, Maryon and Madeline. Larry Kass

KASS, Lawrence. August 22, 2015. Age 77. Beloved husband of the late Lena Kass. Loving father of Larry Jr. (Vicki), Lorie Gordon, Jeff (Chris), Jason (Melissa) and Joe (Jane). Proud and adored grandfather of Kimberly, Kyle, Jillian, Nichole, Danielle, Katie, Taylor, Brittany, Brian, Julia, Anthony, Gabriel and great grandfather of Jocelyn, Sydney and soon to be Baby Z. Cherished brother of Chris (Richard) and Jean (Chuck). Ed Rishavy

Edward A. Rishavy passed away on Saturday November 7, 2015. A memorial service was held on November 14, 2015 at the Birmingham Temple in Farmington Hills, Michigan. No obituary was available.

Jim Mazzola

James Joseph Mazzola, age 84, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on September 5, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to the late James and Francis (Galatioto) Mazzola. James spent his career as a Design Engineer in the automotive industry and played professional baseball. He moved to Sebring in 2004 from Boynton Beach, FL and was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. Golfing was one of his favorite past-times. Survivors include his wife Margaret Mazzola, children: James Mazzola, III; Michael Mazzola; Lisa Otto; Karen Dawson and Randal Mazzola, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial mass on Monday, November 30, 2015 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Sebring, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jose Gonzalez officiating.
