Hospital from Swine Flu, with other underlying health issues. Shirley was the wife of
Alex Cartwright for 25 years. There was memorial service on Mon, June 29, 11:00
a.m. at Christian Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 521 E. Hamlin Rd., Rochester Hills

Kenneth E. Backhurst, age 63, of Mount Clemens, passed away unexpectedly in his
home July 12, 2009. He was born on April 14, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the
late George and Molly (Elgood) Backhurst. Ken had worked as an engineer at General
Motors, and had lived at his present address since 1994. A memorial service was held
on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 11 a.m. in Grace Episcopal Church, 115 South Main
Street, Mount Clemens with the Reverend Anne Glass Bump officiating. Funeral
arrangements by the Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot
Avenue, Mount Clemens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the
